INNOVATING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS
Accupac has the unique opportunity to empower brands to use more sustainable raw materials
in their product formulations. Cobalt Labs is a division of Accupac focused on supporting our
customers with new product development. We can support our customers with developing
formulas to meet the di昀昀erent clean beauty standards and a range of sustainability and health
standards such as Certi昀椀ed Vegan, Fair Trade Certi昀椀ed, Cruelty-free, Halal, and The Kosher
Seal. Additionally, we work to understand how packaging color impacts recyclability and help
source recyclable and recycled package component options. Accupac is actively evaluating
new product formulations with a focus on sustainability. In 2024, we set an ambitious goal for
50% of newly developed formulations to meet our sustainability criteria.* We surpassed that
target, with 64% of new formulas qualifying as sustainable by year’s end.
We will continue to aspire to exceed this goal by prioritizing sustainable ingredients and
practices in our formulation processes.
On a quarterly basis, Cobalt Labs reviews formulas for renewability. During development,
nonrenewable materials are minimized where possible and only used when renewable sources
are not available. Additionally, rinse o昀昀 products are reviewed for biodegradability.
*To be counted towards the target, a formulation must meet the following criteria: 90% or more natural/naturally
derived following ISO standard 16128 with renewable properties
